Garrycastle 1-13 Rosemount 2-12

The Junior team dropped two valuable championship  points to Rosemount in a lacklustre performance in Garrycastle recently.  Garrycastle started slowly and were led by 1-4 to 0-2 after 12 minutes and from then to halftime  the home team reduced the lead to four , 1-7 to 0-6.

Trailing, by four points at the start of the second half they initially failed to make any progress with points being shared by the teams. A serious injury to Paul Gunning,  led to a lengthy delay.    A long ball into the Garrycastle goalmouth was misjudged by the defence and it ended in the net increasing the Rosemount lead to seven points. A purple patch for Garrycastle saw them adding 1-4 to their tally and drawing level, the goal came from Conor Cosgrove. Rosemount got a second wind and got three points on the trot with five minutes to go. Two Garrycastle  points reduced the lead to 1 but a late point from Rosemount gave them a two point win. The slow start that Garrycastle had ultimately cost them as they were always playing catch up and were unable to take the lead in the game.  The fixture versus Caulry was conceded by Caulry Next on the list for this team is a home  match with Tyrellspass which will be vital to stay in the hunt for qualification to the knockout stages.
