GARRYCASTLE 0-12 ST. LOMANS 1-14

Garrycastle lost out in this closely contested game played on Friday night last. Points from Paul Mulvihill, and Paul Gunning,  gave Garrycastle  an early lead.  Lomans levelled it with two points before Garrycastle  took the lead again with a point from a free by Cathal Mannion .  This lead was short lived when lomans got a goal from a rebound after a good save by Michael Fagan. Two points from play by Paul Gunning  and Colm Lynch levelled the score again. A spell of Lomans dominance resulted in them getting 4 points  before Garrycastle  replied with a Cathal Mannion  free. Two more Lomans points were replied to by two points by James Sheeran to leave the halftime score 1-8 to 0-8 in favour of Lomans. There were two balls off the Garrycastle  woodwork during the first half and at the other end the Garrycastle  forwards had five wides in succession. The main feature of the first half was a real rallying point from halfback Colm Lynch who was playing his first adult game for the club.

In the second half Lomans added 2 points to their lead, replied to by a Cathal Mannion  point from a free. Another  Lomans point made the scoreline 1-11 to 0-9. Points from play by Cathal Mannion, Neil Rhattigan and Paul ODonovan and one from Lomans reduced the lead to three points. However the goal that Garrycastle  needed wouldn’t come and two late points from Lomans completed the scoring.
