Garrycastle u14s booked their place in the county C championship final following a tough encounter with Shandonagh last Saturday. The Garrycastle girls took the lead in the early stages of the game, thanks to two great goals scored by Hazel Donegan another from Tegan Foley, however 3 Shandonagh goals in quick succession saw the girls just one point ahead at half time.

Garrycastle emerged a different time after the half time break and a Kacey Mulvihill free and a goal from Ella Dowling, marking a return following injury settled Garrycastle nerves. There were some fantastic displays from Jessica Frawley and Tegan Foley in midfield, Arlene Devery in the half back line and free-taker Kacey Mulvihill. Kaleigh Clyne put in a brave performance in goals. Despite a strong battle on the part of Shandonagh who never gave up Garrycastle emerged well-deserved winners on a score line of 4-13 to 5-2.

They will meet the winners of the other semi-final between Loughnavalley/ St. Marys Rochfordbridge at the end of September.
