This game, played in Garrycastle on a cold wet windy Friday evening last, started to get away from the home side early in the second half after a very promising first half. Fielding a very young side with eight players from last year’s minor side, the Garrycastle lads held their own in the first half and led mid way through the half by two points but were hauled in and were a point behind at halftime, 0-6 to 0-5. Garrycastle put together some nice moves during the half resulting in nice points. Jason Nugent  was proving to be a thorn in Multy’s side.

In the first attack of the second half a shot for goal by Multy was well blocked but unfortunately the rebound was punched to the net. This gave the Multy players a lot of confidence and they pinned Garrycastle in their own half for long periods during which they added seven points to Garrycastle’s one. Late in the half the home team added two further points. The strength and size of the Multy players told in the second half against the young Garrycastle players.
