Garrycastle had a comfortable over Lomans in round 6 of the league, played in Garrycastle on Saturday evening last. Almost straight after the throw in Eoin Monaghan suffered an injury and had to be replaced by Anthony Larkin. Garrycastle were playing with the wind but an early Lomans goal set them back. But they settled and played some excellent open football to lead by 0 - 6 to 0-1 scoring some great points. Daniel Guinan replaced Mathew Guiheen (black card) midway through the half. Lomans added 3 points before Garrycastle finished the half with 3 points to lead by 0-10 to 1-3 at half time.

Facing the wind in the second half the expected onslaught from Lomans never materialised. Garrycastle added 1-3, the goal coming from an excellent Jason Nugent effort,  before the visitors scored. Lomans pressed but they found it hard to breach the tight home defence. Meanwhile Garrycastle were building their score steadily being answered only by two late Lomans points. With both teams missing regulars this was a very satisfactory performance by a Garrycastle side with some young players playing a big part. This result gives Garrycastle 7 points from 6 games in the league.
