Garrycastle 2-5 Miltown  0-18

Fielding in this game was an achievement as a number of the panel were abroad at the wedding of another panel member. However, a team took to the field in the green and red and gave of their best. Garrycastle got on top early and had 1-2 on the board before Miltown got going, the goal coming from Fergal McKiernan.   Gradually Miltown (this was their second team) gained control and wiped out the lead.  By halftime  they led by 5 points, 0-11 to 1-3.

In the second half the Garrycastle lads had plenty of possession but found scoring difficult, losing a lot of ball in the opposition half. To add to the the home team’s woes, Conor Duignan who was having a fine game, had to come off because of injury.   In addition Kenny Dolan picked up an injury late in the game and had to come off.  In spite of the problems garrycastle gave a very good account of themselves.
