The Garrycastle senior ladies kicked started the Division 1 league on Sunday with a win over St Mary’s Rochfortbrige on a final score line of 3-11 to 2-8. Overall this was an entertaining game of football despite the slippery underfoot conditions. The girls showed great heart and never gave up with some of our younger players showing very well in their first year at division 1 and supported very well by the experienced players.

Ladies Div 3 League - Garrycastle girls travelled to Milltown on Easter Monday. It was a wet afternoon and an even wetter pitch. The home club deemed the pitch playable, so the game went ahead. Our young side met a strong Milltown team. Garrycastle got off to a good start but conditions were very poor and Milltown settled quickly and put in a very strong first half and were leading at Half Time. The Garrycastle girls came back out fighting in the second half and put in a good performance. However, while they held their own in the second half, they were just not able to close the gap and Milltown held onto their lead in the second half to take to points for this game. Garrycastle’s young side had a lot to be proud of and are building in strength from week to week.

Team: Megan McCormack, Monica Browne, Ailish Mannion, Faye Hanniffy, Aisling Mulvihill, Aine Lynn, Lizzie Moran, Orla Breathnach, Kate Brennan, Sarah Denby, Danielle Madden, Gemma Donohue, Stephanie O’Neill, Ger Griffith, Emer O’Neill, Chloe O’Neill.

Next week sees us out in Division 1 and Division 3.
