The division 6 team continued their recent good from when they defeated Bunbrosna on Sunday morning last. Played as a 13-side game Garrycastle gained the upper-hand from the start with two early Paul O'Donovan points. With Garrycastle dominating the exchanges the scoring rate was slow before a goal and a point by Conor Duignan and two Fergal McKiernan points brought the scoreline to 1-5 to 0-1. A good run through the middle by Eoin Mulvihill yielded a point before a second Conor Duignan goal brought Garrycastle’s halftime score to 2-6 to 0-2.

Facing the wind and hill in the second half the Garrycastle lads found the going much tougher. The defence were under a lot of pressure during the first twenty minutes but with patient dogged defending they made it difficult for Bunbrosna to get scores but were outscored 0-5 to 0-1, the point coming from a Paul O'Donovan free. An injury to Conor Duignan and a black card for Noel Galvin disrupted Garrycastle’s play. With the score at 2-7 to 0-7 Garrycastle regained control and were rewarded with points from Enda Keena, a third point from Fergal McKiernan and a late point from Eoin Mulvihill.

This was a good all round team performance with  high workrate, composure and plenty of good football. This completes the round games in the division and leaves Garrycastle on nine points, a point behind leaders Tang.
