Garrycastle  picked up two valuable league  points on Saturday evening last when they defeated Ballinagore in Garrycastle. This was a game in which Garrycastle built up leads on a number of occasions only to be pulled back with goals from the Ballinagore side. With the score at 4 points for Garrycastle  Ballinagore got the first of their goals after 7 minutes. Garrycastle  added 3 more points when Ballinagore got their second goal after 20 minutes. They added two more points to Garrycastle’s one to leave the halftime score level at 0-8 to 2-2. Conor Cosgrove was Garrycastle ‘s main scorer during the half getting 6 points with James Duignan and Enda Keena adding the other two. Ballinagore added 1-2  to Garrycastle ‘s one during the early minutes of the second half to lead by 4 points. The first of Garrycastle’s goals came then from Jason Nugent leaving a point between the sides.  During the next 20 minutes Garrycastle  outscored their opponents by 3-5 to 0-1 to lead by 3-14 to 3-5 and looking very comfortable.  However two more goals were leaked before the end which reduced the lead to 3 points.  Garrycastle’s second half scores came from Jason Nugent (1-1), Conor Cosgrove (2-1), Cathal Mannion (0-2), Eoin Monaghan (0-1) and Mark Curley (0-1).
