Garrycastle 4-15  Maryland 1-7

This was Garrycastle ‘s first game in division 6 and was played as a 13 a side game due to Maryland’s lack of numbers which is as per rule for the competition. Garrycastle dominated from the beginning and never looked threatened. With Robbie Shine dominating inside and the midfield of Conor Duignan, and Sean Doak completely on top Garrycastle built up a 2-11 to 0-4 halftime lead. The second half continued like the first with Garrycastle players on top in almost every position. A foul on Conor Duignan, in the square resulted in a goal from Robbie Shine’s well taken penalty. This was a good all round performance with a good workrate from the players. Shane McEnry’s excellent kicking out caught the eye, Adam Keena was very solid in defence, Brian McCormack worked hard all around the pitch as well as Conor Duignan, Sean Doak and Robbie Shine.
