Garrycastle 2-08    Inny Gaels   3-07

Our U14s lost out to Inny Gaels(Bunbrosna/Barrynacargy) in a very competitive and entertaining championship game played Sunday morning in tough conditions due to heavy overnight rain fall. Inny gaels went in at the break 1-07 to 1-04 ahead. The Garrycastle lads played their best football in the second half getting some excellent scores to take a one point lead going into the last two minutes however due to some wayward shooting they were unable to kill the game off and Inny Gaels struck for a fortuitious goal as the game entered injury time. The lads launched one last attack and were unfortunate to see a last gasp goal bound shot saved on the line. The lads were disappointed to lose a game they should have won and know that the inability to take some scoreable chances cost them dear in the end. The pleasing part of the performance was the whole team worked really hard for every ball and kept going right to the end playing some great football in the process.

GARRYCASTLE: Bill Carmody, John McBride, Frank McKiernan, Issac O’Neill, Adam Mulvihill, Peter Mulvihill, Cian McCarthy, Ben Kilkenny, Andrew Ruane, Ben Donegan, Adam O’Neill, Stephen Gaffey, Corey Nugent.
