This was an excellent win for Garrycastle to give them their fourth win in five league games.

The team lined out with a new midfield partnership of Diarmaid Murtagh and Sean O’Donoghue and both players excelled in winning valuable possession which the Garrycastle forwards were soon converting into scores. Oisin Nugent netted an excellent goal and there were also some well taken points including fine efforts from Tom Sheehan and Jack Allen to leave the score at 1-6 to 0-1 at half time.
Garrycastle were now facing a strong breeze in the second half and they worked very hard to keep the Tubberclair attack at bay. The Garrycastle defensive unit was excellent with Con O’Hara and  Killian Keegan particularly impressive. When Tubberclair did make the breakthrough with a goal, Garrycastle responded at the other end with goals from Tom and Conor Sheean. Garrycastle utilised all their substitutes in the second half and the fresh legs allowed Garrycastle to push on and win comfortably at the finish.
