This re-scheduled game saw Mullingar Shamrocks run out easy winners in the end over a very depleted Garrycastle  team. Mullingar got off to a good start scoring four points before Brian McCormack scored a free to get Garrycastle  on the board.  Mullingar led by 1-7 to 0-2 when Garrycastle  began to get into the game outscoring Mullingar by 3 points to one leaving the halftime score at 1-8 to 0-5. A burst of scoring by Garrycastle  in the early stages of the second half reduced the lead to 2 points. Garrycastle ‘s goal came when Adam Kennedy, making his return to Gaelic action, burst through and when fouled the quick thinking Kennedy took the free quick finding the top corner of the net. With the score at 1-10 to 1-8 for Mullingar the Garrycastle  lads began to run out of legs with Mullingar adding a further 7 points  before another Adam Kennedy run resulted in a penalty which Paul Mulvihill scored.   A Mullingar  goal the in the final seconds finished the scoring.  Sean Carey and Gary Mullery did best in defence along with Adam Kennedy whose drives forward were very effective. James Sheeran and Enda Keena, worked hard at midfield. Peadar Mulvihill, Paul Mulvihill and Brian McCormack did best in the forwards.
