Garrycastle delivered a strong team performance with their visit to Rosemount on Friday evening in the Junior Championship and came away with a deserved victory.

The home team had two points on the board before Robbie Shine pointed a free for Garrycastle. A sequence of points followed as Garrycastle dominated the first half and were six points ahead when Robbie Shine finished to the net with a volley in the25th minute. The home team managed one more point before Garrycastle added two points to leave the score 1-10 to 0-3 at the half time break.

The second half was more closely fought with scores from both sides more or less even until Paul Mulvihill found the net and finished the game as a contest. Garrycastle then emptied the bench and despite Rosemount raising the green flag the visitors ran out clear winners in the end.

This was a disciplined and workmanlike performance which the team can be proud of and hopefully will repeat through the championship.
