Garrycastle 2-8  Inny Gaels 0-14

The Garrycastle under 16's travelled to Bun Brosna and eked out a hard fought draw against Inny Gaels, a combination of Bunbrosna, Streete, Castletown-Finea-Coole-Whitehall and Ballynacargy. Garrycastle started well with two quick points from Ian Carroll and Enda Malone following good work from Dylan Keegan in the opening minutes. However, they failed to score for the next twenty minutes, during which time Inny Gaels rattled off seven unanswered points. It could have been worse only for Cillian Lyons and Shane Duffy who were having great games in defence while Matthew McBride pulled off a number of fantastic saves. Garrycastle finished the half strongly with points from Oisin Langan, Colm Lynch and Ian Carroll. Mattius O'Neill was having an excellent game at centre back, ably assisted by Jack Fitzgerald, Robbie Kelly and Pat McKiernan.

Garrycastle started the second half as they finished the first with points from Philip Monaghan and Colm Lynch following excellent work from Shane Duffy. However the Gaels responded strongly with four unanswered points before a Colm Lynch won free, converted by Enda Malone, stemmed the tide. Jack O'Connor was unlucky not score a goal forcing a great save from the Inny keeper and also hitting the post. Enda Malone did raise the green flag with two quick fire goals, the first following an excellent run from Colm Henry, the second a rocket into the top corner from a 14 yard free. Inny fought back and drew level with the last kick of the game.

From a Garrycastle perspective Cillian Lyons was man of the match who had an excellent game throughout, followed closely by Shane Duffy, Oisin Langan, Colm Lynch and Enda Malone.
