Under-12 League

Our Under-12s travelled to Moate last Wednesday evening and despite their best efforts had to give way to a well drilled Moate team. Due to the unavailability of some of the panel due to illness we had to make several adjustments to the line out from previous games and this obviously effected our start as after 15 minutes we were down 2-04 to 0-01.

To their credit they then stormed into the game and at half time the score was 1-04 to 2-05 in favour of Moate.

Garrycastle continued to have the best of the chances early in the second half and with 10 minutes to go had got back to within a point with some great play from Peter Mulvihill, Cian McCarthy, Rory Kilgariff, Ben Kilkenny, Rishav Gufta, and Ben Donegan in particular. With the huge effort required to get back into the game the lads tired and Moate finished strongly to take the league points. Overall a pleasing performance after a poor start. Others to shine on the night were Andrew Ruane in goal who played very well until injured in the second half and John McBride who was solid in the full back line.
