The seniors collected two valuable league points from this visit to Bunbrosna last Sunday. Taking control from the start, they picked off some very good scores and led at the break by 0-10 to 0-3. The home team enjoyed a good spell after half time and quickly reduced the deficit to five points, but Garrycastle restored the seven point gap and seemed comfortable with 15 minutes remaining. Maybe it was complacency or perhaps it was due to some players playing their second match in two days but Garrycastle began to struggle and a few errors crept into their play. Bunbrosna scored three unanswered points to reduce the gap to four before a pointed Dessie Dolan free eased the pressure. When the home team missed a good goal chance in the closing minutes that effectively ended their challenge.

The players will be relieved to have two league points but are mature enough to know that significant improvements will be needed in the months ahead.
