Garrycastle 4-12, Kilbeggan St Josephs 6-12

Despite having a much weakened side and having only 13 players available due to holidays and injuries, Garrycastle U14s put in a very spirited performance last Thursday night at home against Kilbeggan. Great credit is due to the lads that were available on the night who worked hard right to the final whistle.

The evening was very humid and as the lads tired in the second half our inability to bring on replacements was a huge factor in losing this game. All the lads can take many positives from this game which saw excellent work in particular from Jason Nugent, Oisin Langan, Brian Ruane, Eoin Mulvihill, Dara Mulvihill and Joe Carmody.

There were some great scores from Garrycastle on the night with our goals coming from Phillip Monaghan, Eoin Kenny, Brian Ruane and Joe Carmody from the penalty spot. The Kilbeggan goalkeeper was in fine form on the night and denied us three more with great saves. The team move on to play Kinnegad in the next round.

Garrycastle Team:

Matthew McBride, Cian O Brien, Eoin Mulvihill, Conor Macken, Joe Carmody, Andrew Monaghan, Oisin Langan, Dara Mulvihill, Jason Nugent, Colm Henry, Brian Ruane, Phillip Monaghan, Eoin Kenny.
