Garrycastle 1-8  Tubberclair 3-16

Garrycastle Minors were comprehensively beaten at home by a superior Tubberclair team on Monday, August 26th.  Tubberclair set the pace of the game from the opening minutes and Garrycastle struggled to come to terms with the pace and physicality of their near neighbours. Tubberclair had a four point lead before the home team opened their account with a Michael Monaghan point. The visitors added a further point and then raised the green flag to put clear daylight between the teams. Garrycastle rallied at this stage and managed back to back scores but were then rocked by another goal. A further point from Monaghan was the last contribution of the first half from the home team as Tubberclair maintained their dominance with 3 more points to leave the score at 2-8 to 0-4 when Referee Pat Fox blew the half-time whistle.

Garrycastle got the first score of the second half through a penalty converted by Eric Kearney. Tubberclair then took over from where they left off at half-time and proceeded to rack up a further goal and 4 points before the home team added a point to their own tally. With the game well and truly out of Garrycastle's grasp both teams traded further points until the final whistle.

Overall it was a poor display by the home team who have a lot of work to do to reach the standard of their neighbours.
