Garrycastle 2-13  St. Mary's Rochfortbridge 2-6

Garrycastle Minors continued their impressive start to the League with their fourth win at home to St.Mary's Rochfortbridge on Monday March 18th last. Garrycastle were 3 points ahead before the visitors registered their first score. Another 3 points from the home team followed before Mary's responsed with a point and then a goal to cut Garrycastle's lead to just 1 point with 7 minutes left in the first half. Garrycastle upped their game and had their best spell with a further 2 goals and 2 points to leave the half-time score at 2-8 to 1-2.
The visitors had their best spell in the opening minutes of the second half when they scored their second goal followed by 3 unanswered points to leave just 3 points between the teams. It was then that Eoin Slevin brought off a fine save to prevent St Mary's bringing the sides level. This seemed to awaken the Garrycastle side who regained control and didn't relinquished it for the rest of the match.
St. Mary's got a consolation point at the end but Garrycastle were deserved winners on the night.
Overall a convincing performance with fine contributions from Cian Hayden and Eoin Slevin in defence, Michael Monaghan in midfield  and Darragh Brody working hard in the forwards.
