Garrycastle 4-8  Kilbeggan/St. Josephs 2-9

Garrycastle Minors had their third win in a row on Saturday March 9th away to Kilbeggan/St.Josephs in Streamstown pitch. Garrycastle opened the scoring with an Eric Kearney goal which was followed by a point from the opposition. Aided by a strong wind Garrycastle built up a commanding lead in the first half with goals from Liam Leahy, and Kenny Dolan and points from Mark Curley (1) and Michael Monaghan (4) before Kilbeggan/St.Josephs registered their second point. Half time score: 3-5 to 0-2 for the visitors.
With the wind advantage now with the home team they took control early in the second half and brought their score to 1-4 before Kenny Dolan added to Garrycastle's tally. A further 3 points from the home team left 5 points between the teams. A free from Michael Monaghan was followed by a well worked Garrycastle move which was eventually driven to the net by Mark Curley to put Garrycastle back in control. Kilbeggan/St.Josephs rallied again and hit 3 more points before a well taken point by Kenny Dolan near the end capped a fine performance by the Green and Red.
