Garrycastle 3-12   St.Rynagh’s  1-12

Garrycastle minor team played St.Rynagh’(Offaly) in an entertaining challenge match in Cloghan on Thursday night last. The Garrycastle team fielded without their leaving certificate bound players and the match gave the Garrycastle mentors a chance to look at players who might be in contention for places when the championship comes around.Garrycastle were unfortunate to lose Adam Keena through injury 10 minutes into the first-half and they had to play with 14 players for the remainder of the match

Garrycastle:Eoin Slevin, Adam Keena, Ben Kennedy, Darragh Brody, Conor Duignan, Frank Farrell, Jack McGann, Michael Monaghan, Eric Kearney, Darragh McCormack, Mark Curly, Mark Duffy, Kenneth Dolan, Liam Leahy and Donal Byrne.

Garrycastle minor team will be without  competitive matches until the leaving certificate is over and they can feel happy with their league campaign with wins over Mullingar Shamrock’s, Caulry, Maryland/Tang, St Mary’s  Rochfordbridge, Kilbeggan, a draw with St.Lomans and a defeat to Tubberclair and if the panel can repeat the commitment to training after the exams they are capable to going on to better things.

We wish Adam Keena a speedy recovery from the hand injury he picked up during the match in Cloghan.
