All County League (Division 2)

There are few positives to be taken from this performance by Garrycastle's second team in Rochfortbridge last Tuesday. Apart from a brief spell in the opening quarter when they wiped out a five point lead, they were outplayed all over the field by a much more determined home team. In fairness to the Garrycastle backs, it's not easy to defend when opposing midfielders and half backs are coming through unchallenged, and a number of players didn't work hard enough when the opposition had the ball. Goalkeeper Mark Keenan and defenders Tom McHugh, Alan Fox and especially sub Jack Donohue tried hard in difficult circumstances but further afield only Johnny McGuire, Noel Galvin and sub Michael Monaghan made any impact, although Eoin Monaghan and Alan Daly took their goals well.

GARRYCASTLE: Mark Keenan, Gary Mullery, Tom McHugh, Alan Fox, Robbie Fox, Justin McAteer, Anthony Larkin, Matthew Guiheen, Ciaran O'Neill, Peadar Mulvihill, Noel Galvin (0-2), James Duignan, Gary McCallon, Johnny McGuire, Eoin Monaghan (2-2, 1 free).
Subs: Jack Donohue for R. Fox; Michael Monaghan for Mulvihill; Stephen McGuire for Mullery (injured); Karl Henson for A. Fox (injured); Alan Daly (1-0) for McAteer.
