All County League (Division 1)

After two disappointing displays the previous week, the seniors restored pride with a hard-working performance that yielded two league points from this home game against Tyrrellspass last Tuesday. A positive start left Garrycastle leading by 0-6 to 0-1 after 15 minutes but this lead was practically wiped out when the visitors got through for a goal and point within two minutes. Garrycastle led by 0-8 to 1-3 at half time and continued to have the better of matters into the second period. The introduction of Denis Glennon at half time kept Garrycastle's defence on their toes but they weathered the storm and Tyrrellspass never looked like getting the second goal that they needed. Garrycastle always had more scoring options, as evidenced by the fact that eight of their players scored from open play, and they ran out deserving winners.

Garrycastle: Cathal Mullin, Gary Mullery, Enda Mulvihill, Mark McCallon, Doran Harte, Justin McAteer, Tom McHugh, Aidan  Browne (0-1), Ciaran O'Neill (0-1), Justin Barrett, Gary Dolan (0-2), Matthew Guiheen (0-1), James Duignan (0-5, 4 frees), Paddy Mulvihill, James Dolan (0-3, 1 free).
Subs: Karl Henson (0-1) for Mullery; Neill Rattigan (0-1) for Duignan: David O'Shaughnessy for O'Neill.
