Another very busy week for the ladies. First up was the u10s and u8s who played host to Athlone on Wednesday evening with 3 very entertaining games of football, well done to all.

U12 champions: Early Saturday morning it was all roads to Kinnegad where the u12 side took on Shandonagh in the C final. Having lost to Shandonagh in the round games, the Garrycastle girls started strong and were on the attack early with lovely points. A Shandonagh goal turned the game but Garrycastle fought back and were 1-4 to 1-2 up at the break. Garrycastle started the second half with all guns blazing and two early goals set them up nicely and from there the girls pushed on and won out on a score line of 3.4 to 2.2.This was a great performance from all of the girls with the defence holding firm and kicking great ball down the field. Midfield worked hard all through and the forwards were brilliant. Captain Kacey Mullvihill was presented with the cup and it was over to SuperMacs in Moate for refreshments. Well done to all the girls and in particular team manager Colin Clyne and Assistant Ger Griffith and the backroom team of Noelle O’Donnell, Roseann O’Hara, Amelia Keena and Brian Ganly. Many thanks to Reilly Mushrooms for their sponsorship towards t-shirts for this successful u12 side.

Senior Semi Final. Saturday evening it was over to Moate for the semi-final of the senior championship where the girls pulled of an impressive win over Tyrellspass, final score 1-11 to 0-5. Overall this was a strong performance from the girls and sees them through to the final where they will face Milltown next weekend. The club extends best wishes to all in the final and calling on all supporters to support the girls next week. Get well wishes to  Aoife Connolly who suffered an injury early in the game and wishing her a speedy recovery.

Street League: Sunday morning was the final of the street leagues and end of season fun and games for our youngest players. Well done to all the young players who had a great season. Thanks to all who helped with the underage over the season and enjoy the break.

Well done to the u11 boys on their success and hard luck to the minors.

Get well wishes are extended to Fergie Jameson.
