Important Notice - Dogs on Club Premises

posted 31 May 2017, 07:39 by Matthew Ryan
Over the last few weeks a number of parents were asked to remove their dogs from the club grounds, in order to protect our young players.

Garrycastle GAA club wishes to remind everyone that dogs may not be taken onto the club grounds. This arises from the health threats associated with dog faeces, particularly in areas where young children play. Toxocariasis is a disease caused by roundworm eggs found in dog faeces that may potentially result in eye problems or blindness, and children are particularly at risk. Accordingly, members and non-members are reminded that they should not under any circumstances bring dogs on to the club’s grounds.

If you want more information about Toxocariasis, you can look it up on the Health Service Executive website at www.hse.ie
